Job Description: Senior Commercial Lender (Exempt) POSITION CHARACTERISTICS: This position is responsible for supporting Commercial Banking Manager in the management of a team of lenders dedicated to the implementation of credit and non-credit services offered to commercial customers. Emphasis is placed on corporate accounts and prospecting through an effective call and follow up program for designated work group. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Exceptionally strong focus on business development and production (individual contributor) in the areas of C&I, DDA, Owner-occupied CRE, and large commercial credits. ?Evaluate, analyze, recommend and approve credit facilities within the established terms and conditions of the bank. ?Interview customers and prospects for analysis, structure design, recommendations, documentation and processing of loan requests or credit lines. ?Evaluate and analyze financial statements and collateral for assigned accounts. ?Analyze and approve loans within lending authority and refer any loans that exceed authority to next level of management. ?Assume responsibilities for accurate and complete loan documentation as well as prepare and review loan reports prepared by the unit. ?Develop and monitor effective call programs for designated work group. ?Assist in forecasting loans, balances and other profit indicators for the unit. ?Supervise the loan portfolio assigned and work closely with commercial credit or work-out group. Insure staff members adhere to established policies, procedures and controls. ?Effectively establish and communicate the goals to staff members, gain commitment and establish plan of action for goal attainment. ?Adhere to general bank regulatory procedures including BSA/AML as it pertains to "know your customer." ?Provide coaching, recognition, motivation and skill development to staff members on a consistent and daily basis. ?Identify and visit clients and potential business customers to establish the bank's credibility, gain a full understanding of their needs, and evaluate appropriate products and services to satisfy their needs and educate them on the benefits. Establish follow-up mechanisms to offer alternative solutions. ?Support new marketing campaigns and product launches and the development of micro-marketing efforts to achieve sales results. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED: ?Very strong working knowledge of commercial credit, commercial banking laws, bank policy, services, products, cost accounting, financial analysis and computer operations. ?Strong research and analysis of financial statements coupled with effective oral and written communication skills. ?Strong interpersonal, selling and negotiating skills with effective sales ability and persuasiveness. ?Ability to effectively coach employees and develop teamwork with co-workers in other units. ?Effective organizational and analytical skills ?Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes. ?Computer literate; fluency in Microsoft Office programs, Excel analysis required ?Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally ?Problem-solving, negotiation & follow-up skills ?Effective oral and written communication skills. ? Position requires minimum of 7 years of EXTENSIVE and PROGRESSIVE experience in commerical lending (not including CRE, mortgage, servicing, SBA. underwriting, processing or other related services). The ideal candidate will have a committed track record of performance in commercial banking/lending and managing client relationship with multi-million dollar, high value commercial clients. ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field combined with a minimum 9 years of experience in commercial credit and bank operations.
