Products include spark plugs, wiper blades, filters, alternators, starters, gasoline and diesel fuel injection components and more. The division is committed to developing innovative products to ensure that motorists get premium performance products to keep their vehicles running like new. Job Description : THIS POSITION WILL BE BASED IN YORK PA Participates in the negotiation of purchase contracts, follow up, scheduling and expediting of deliveries.* Select vendors and recommend sources of supply for non-Bosch items.* Analyze quotations received, select and recommend suppliers.* Help develop purchasing plans and programs to be implemented in accordance with corporate policies and objectives. Check and approve for payment invoices for orders placed. * Prepare purchase orders.* Develop and maintain necessary records and files for efficient operation.* Obtain materials from suppliers at the lowest possible cost, consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.* Furnish purchase analyses and cost data for use in scheduling, planning, budgeting, and other functional activities.* Prepare reports/analyses for management as requested. Cooperate with other departments in the development of equipment and product specification and substitute materials. Visit vendors' offices and plants to investigate facilities, capacity, and ability to meet quality requirements, specifications and delivery Dates. Review and process claims against suppliers for unsatisfactory materials or equipment. May investigate trends in basic raw materials and apply prices, recommendations on the timing and quantity of purchases, and the establishment of most economical purchase quantities. Job Requirements : BA or BS in supply chain or related business field 5-8 years experience in purchasing; technical products, automotive parts, MRO and/or packaging experience preferred, as is basic technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment. CPM certification preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and negotiation skills Good computer skills (Microsoft Office and database software)
