Senior Business Analyst - Proxy Research Team

Title: Senior Business Analyst - Proxy Research Team
Location: NH-Merrimack
Fidelity's Investment Proxy Research team is responsible for ensuring shareholder rights are exercised by casting votes by proxy at shareholder meetings on matters submitted to shareholders for approval.

As part of the Investment Proxy Research team (IPR), the Senior Business Analyst will work closely with technical partners as well as team members to prioritize and drive initiatives that will achieve department objectives. Responsibilities will include leading multiple systems and business-only projects, leading annual regulatory filing of proxy votes (Form N-PX), vendor oversight, provide project related communication, develop/maintain relationships with clients and business partners, and assume responsibility for certain day-to-day operational activities. He or she will identify opportunities and potential benefits, document requirements, collaborate with technical partners on solution design, and oversee testing and implementation of new systems and role requires intellectual curiosity and problem-solving skills to identify potential opportunities to enhance process. Appropriate decision-making skills are required as individual becomes more experienced in the role. This candidate will need to work independently to resolve reoccurring problems and escalate more difficult issues. They will need to exercise superior judgment in keeping manager informed about day to day issues.

Primary Responsibilities
* Responsible for leading initiatives end to end, in support of team and department goals.
* Ongoing project related communication to all levels of management.
* Continually evaluate current process for efficiency and controls. Work with management to identify and prioritize systems enhancements that will achieve department objectives.
* Proactively monitor and evaluate services provided by proxy vendors and work closely with management to identify and recommend new vendors to replace or augment current providers.
* Seek opportunities to provide value added/integrated solutions to meet business needs.
* Creates project plans, performs gap analysis, and documents recommended solutions.
* Develop and implement test plans for all system enhancements.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.
* 5-7 years Financial Services and/or Business Analyst experience.
* PMP or Six Sigma Certification a plus.
* Experience with Fidelity's Agile Methodology (FAM).
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff, management and other internal business partners.
* Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong project management skills, ability to lead projects end to end.
* Effective facilitation skills, ability to bring discussions to closure with consensus.
* A team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
* Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines, strong time management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
