Real Estate Project Accounting Business Background * Real Estate Project Accounting is a business unit within Corporate Controllers' Group. * Real Estate Project Accounting manages the US based Corporate Real Estate Project Approvals, Competitive Bidding, Purchase Ordering, Invoice Receipt & Processing, Close Out, and Financial Reporting. * In 2010, Real Estate Project Accounting expects to process nearly $1.6 Billion in Real Estate Project related expenditures. Real Estate Project Senior Accounting Associate Key Responsibilities: * Financial review on capital project expenditures to include timely booking of fixed assets * Invoice Audit of Account treatment * Monthly reconciliation of projects in PTS (Project Sub-ledger) to SAP (General Ledger & Fixed Assets Sub-ledger) * Monthly Construction in Progress Reporting * Real Estate Financial Reporting * Project Review and Closeout * Develop meaningful financial analysis in support of Corporate Real Estate decision making * Review leased properties for appropriateness of lease classification utilizing the GREDL (Global Real Estate Data Library) and REMS (Real Estate Management System) applications. * Review Project Retainage due contractors for amounts requiring close-out and payment. * Analytical review of CIP (Construction in Progress) and PIP to ensure propriety of balances outstanding. * Assess transaction activity for proper accounting treatment. * Review and improve key accounting processes to ensure processes are efficient and effective. * Ad hoc Analysis * Participate in system implementation or other special projects as necessary * Other responsibilities as assigned by manager
* Senior Accountant with minimum 3-5 years accounting experience in a similar corporate environment * Bachelors Degree, Accounting preferred; CPA/MBA Preferred * Strong analytical skills * Excellent written/verbal communication skills * Ability to work independently while maintaining focus on teamwork * Must be able to work overtime * Detail oriented and highly organized * Ability to meet tight production deadlines * Demonstrated attention to detail * Strong Excel Skills * Demonstrate track record of increasing levels of responsibility Preferred: * Construction accounting background * Public Accounting experience preferred * Experience with fixed assets * Knowledge of SAP and Access database JPMorgan Chase is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer M/F/D/V.
