Description
- Perform reviews/analyze business processes designed to strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and eliminate redundant tasks/efforts - Reviews and analyses will be performed both within the Controller's Group (Financial Reporting & Cost Accounting) and in areas outside the Controller's Group (including other areas of Finance, as well as Operations and Sales) - Emphasis is on maintaining controls and compliance throughout Quaker Tropicana Gatorade (QTG) businesses - Ensure alignment of local/sector accounting policies and procedures with PepsiCo accounting policies and procedures and provide/update local/sector supplemental policies as necessary - Ensure compliance with documented policies by performing policy reviews (e.g., Trade Spending audits, Procurement audits, T&E and P-card audits, etc.) - Provide analytical/research support to management on technical accounting changes (e.g., FASB, EITF, SOP, etc.) - Quantify and analyze impact of any accounting changes on QTG BU's and communicate findings to PepsiCo - Perform various operational audits as issues arise, identifying QTG BU's risk areas and providing recommendations for potential improvements to Management - Assist in the development of internal procedures to improve controls over PepsiCo Chicago owned assets - Participate in special projects as needed to provide support to PepsiCo, Frito Lay, PepsiCo Chicago and PCNA initiatives - Provide support/assistance to other Controller's Group areas as needed. - Assist external auditors and PepsiCo Corporate Audit as needed in examination and reviews - Assist in ensuring PepsiCo's continued compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience - BS Degree in Accounting; MBA or Master of Accounting or CPA preferred - High integrity, strong technical accounting skills (GAAP), and keen analytical skills - Ability to cut through details to summarize information, develop ideas and solve problems - Strong communication skills -excellent writing and effective and persuasive verbal skills - Manufacturing experience beneficial
