SUPERVISOR: Executive Director STATUS: Part Time SALARY: Houly, Non-exempt POSITION SUMMARY: The administrative staff of Mercy Health Clinic (MHC) provides support to the clinic and its primary health care services. The Senior Accountant of MHC plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and controlsMHC's financial records, adhering to the highest professional standards consistent with the objectives and policies established by the Board of Directors. The Senior Accountant shall support and implement the philosophy and policies established by the Board of Directors and reports to the Executive Director. QUALIFICATIONS: The Senior accountant must have at a minimum a Bachelor's degree with a major emphasis in either accounting or in financial management from an accredited program. CPA certification is preferred. Proficiency with finance and accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word is desirable. DUTIES INCLUDE: 1. Record and maintain the general ledgers of MHC. Post A/R, A/P. and G/L batches to general ledger Prepare monthly journal entries necessary to complege financial statements Complete administration overhead allocations to departments Prepare Quarterly financial reports for Board meetings 2. Ensure timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Bank accounts Accounts Receivable Prepaid Expenses Accounts Payable Payroll Contributions Review employee benefit reconciliations-leave tracking Investment reconciliation 3. Assure that financial reports, including restricted funds, are presented accurately and timely and representt the condition of MHC fairly, fully, and clearly accorning to generally accepted accounting principles and policies for voluntary health and welfare organizations. Prepare/Review/Distribute monthly financial statements Prepare trial balance reconciliation to monthly financial statements Prepare board approved budget reconciliation to monthly financial statements Prepart & distribute monthly detailed revenue report description Finalize monthly internal financil statements & distribute Prepare monthly board financial statements Oversee office cash transactions Track & record in-kind contributions of volunteers 4. Analyze all generated financial reports to monitor trends and current financial position, determine accuracy, and provide clarifications to management. 5. Complete financial reporting requirements of outside agencies/governments. Submit PCC monthly invoices for patient encounters Complete annual Maryland Personal Property Return Complete annual 990s required by Federal and State agencies 6. In collaboration with the Executive Director, construct annual operating bidget with input from staff and board and assist in presenting the budget to Executive Committee of the Board. 7. Prepare for the interim and annual certified external audit. 12/31 accrued leave calculation Properly close out the fiscal year in the accounting records 8. Monitor and maintain bank accounts with sufficient balances to cover montly operating, payroll and other expenditures. 9. Supervise data entry volunteers for patient statistics. 10.
