Description: Responsible for assisting the Controller and Assistant Controller in the maintenance of the financial management programs in accordance with the approved policies of the Board of Directors; achieving goals as established in the Finance Division?s annual operating plan; coordinating work within the department as well as with other departments; responding to inquires or requests for information maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.
Duties: Essential Duties

1. Assists the Controller and the Assistant Controller in the maintenance of the financial management programs in accordance with the approved policies of the Board of Directors of which the following are illustrative:

a. Assists in management and control of the accounting and financial reporting function of the Bank.

b. Develops special financial reports and monitors preparation and review.

c. Prepares adjusting and correcting entries as needed.

d. Insures various financial reports are prepared for reviews by management; prepares reports for external groups, e.g. regulators, etc for reviews for accuracy and distribution.

e. Reviews the general ledger for reasonableness and unusual items

f. Prepares tax returns and other tax reports as necessary

g. Prepares Regulatory Bank Reports (Call Report, Y9-C, Etc)

h. Prepares SOP-03 report.

i. Assist in the preparation of SEC Reports (10-k, 10-Q, 8-K, Proxy)

j. Monitor and maintain bank stock option software

2. Abides by the current laws and organization policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.

3. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank?s compliance with all external regulatory requirements.

4. Achieves goals assignment to the Senior Accountant III as part of the Finance Division?s annual operating plan.

5. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the Division as well as with other departments in order to insure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
6. Communicates with the management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.

7. Responds to inquiries relating to his particular area, or to request from other bank personnel, customers, etc within given time frames and within established policy.

8. Maintains appropriate records and proves assignment reports.

9. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Controller/CFO.

Ancillary Duties

1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.

Qualifications: Education/Training: A BS or BA degree in accounting field or related field of study; specialized bank finance education and training. CPA required

Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematical skills; demonstrated proficiency in analyzing and interpreting financial statements, e.g. balance sheets, income statements, etc; proficient PC skills; a working knowledge of banking functions relating to the accounting function; knowledge of current bank regulations impacting the accounting function-including bank tax accounting and multiple entity consolidations; superior excel skills; very proficient with word and PowerPoint; outstanding people skills

Experience: minimum of 5 or more years in related banking positions.
