The Travelers Select organization is currently engaged in a large scale multi-year effort to provide strategic, agile product and underwriting capabilities to our agents, insureds, and business partners. We are searching for a motivated, energetic Product Director to be part of a team aligned to drive the achievement of complex business and organizational objectives.

The Select Director-Property Underwriting & CAT Strategy is responsible for developing and executing new Property strategies for Catastrophe perils that align with the Business Units goals and underwriting philosophy. This individual has extensive experience underwriting business and understands the impact that Catastrophe exposures have on the loss ratios and portfolio metrics. The Director works in collaboration with business partners both inside Select and externally to ensure continuity with Enterprise objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:
Duties include: developing & executing CAT underwriting strategies for multiple perils with a nationwide focus; monitor results of executed CAT strategies; proactively manage nationwide aggregation with focus on striking appropriate risk-to-premium balance; assist field in execution tactics, both local and centralized; collaborate with Select Actuarial in developing and analyzing CAT related metrics; work with Select Product Management on pricing strategies for CAT perils.

Qualifications:
* Minimum five years Commercial Lines Property, or Multi-Line underwriting or Product experience required.
* College degree or equivalent experience
* Exceptional quantitative reasoning and critical thinking skills
* Excellent oral and verbal communication and writing skills
* Strong ability to build and leverage internal and external partnerships
* Superior organizational and multitasking abilities
* Ability to translate vision and strategy into actionable plans; drives results;
* Ability to effectively influenceothers laterally and vertically
* Work collaboratively in a cross functional, team-oriented environment
* Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
* Strong presentation development and delivery skills, with an ability to customize delivery depending on audience
* Willingness to grasp and embrace new ideas generated from multiple perspectives for the betterment of the organization
* Superior platform skills; proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and overall computer navigation
