Position Summary (Overall purpose and objective of the position)
This position is responsible for establishing relationships with clients through independent sales calls. Will identify, qualify, and secure new clients within a specified region or product base. Position will also facilitate positive long-term relationships with new clients and secure repeat business.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities (List major job responsibilities that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation)
* Maintain an extensive understanding of National Flood Services-StoneRiver daily operations and National Flood Insurance Program regulations. * Identify, qualify and secure new clients to include the top 100 homeowners carriers. May use any/all of the following sources: * On-site meetings * Telephone/Email contact * Web-based training and presentations * Monitor Gulf State DOI websites for rate modification postings for solicitation of private label carriers. * Solicit flood zone determination companies, mortgage loan originators, and lenders for cross selling opportunities which may include: * Flood Insurance * noticeXchange * Disaster co-location facilities * Hardware/software hosting * Other duties as assigned.
* Ensure all communication is complete and professional. * May work remotely with minimal supervision. * Maintain an established level of productivity using time management techniques. * Able to shift between priorities as needed throughout the workday.

Job Related Experience: * 5+ years of marketing/sales background. * Previous insurance experience desired. Skills and Abilities: * Excellent human relations skills, including written and verbal communications and group presentation skills. * Ability to make decisions and resolve problems using experience and professional judgment. * Ability to work with frequent and multiple policy, procedure, and regulation changes. * Ability to effectively educate, and engage people. * Creative problem solving skills with forethought of organizational goals and needs. * Ability to effectively use a variety of mediums to represent NFS and sell products/services. * Maintain and display a positive attitude at all times; supporting business needs and changes; supporting continuous improvement; and supporting the National Flood Insurance Program. * Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative. * Must be able to travel extensively. Minimum Education: * Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline is required. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
