Revenue Integrity Auditor - Revenue Cycle
This is a new and exciting role to our organiztion!!!! Come help to support the standardization of our Revenue Cycle. Candidates may be located at any Ministry location within Central/Northern Wisconsin.
The Revenue Integrity Auditor will use clinical and/or coding expertise to enhance revenue integrity by performing concurrent or retrospective charge capture audits. The audit will compare the medical record documentation to the itemized bill to ensure compliance with federal and state coding and billing rules and regulations.
Additional Responsibilities include:
* Participating in the Revenue Integrity Team Meetings.
* Serving as a resource for department managers, staff, physicians, and administration to obtain information or clarification on accurate documentation and charge capture. Assessing the accuracy of all charging methodologies including clinical systems and dictionaries, encounter forms and other charge documents. Providing guidance, communication and education on correct charge capture, coding and billing processes.
* Responsible for staying current with federal and state billing and coding literature and regulations.
* Collaborating with compliance, patient accounting, billing, health information services, internal audit and other departments on revenue management initiatives.
* Analyzing audit results, billing errors, and denial data to identify patterns, trends, variances, and opportunity to improve revenue integrity. Assist with development and execution of work plans to correct identified deficiencies. Monitor resulting new processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Assisting with development of charge capture and reconciliation tools to assist clinical departments in ensuring accurate, complete and compliant charge capture.
* Assisting in creation and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures as requested.

Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent combination of education and work experience, four (4) years experience related to charge capture, audit and/or coding, working knowledge of medical coding and a coding certification (e.g. CCS, RHIA, RHIT) or applicable experience.
