Real Estate - Senior Accounting Manager
Major Real Estate Investment Fund located in New York City & Miami is currently seeking an individual for their expanding corporate accounting department. This position is based in Miami.
Responsibilities consist of the following:
• Financial reporting and general accounting for self-managed and managed properties (condominiums, office buildings & rental apartments)
• General ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable work - This position will be responsible for supervising the close of the Books and Records of upwards of 41 operating real estate entities and analytical review.
• Monthly, quarterly and year-end closings
• Experience with external auditors and preparing schedules for the audit
• Account Analysis - preparation of work papers supporting balance sheet accounts.
• Special Projects for the Controller & CFO.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Possess strong analytical skill set, and audit/research documentation skills
Comprehension of the monthly closing process and accurate financial statement preparation
Advanced knowledge of Windows based spreadsheet and word processing software
Proficient with Yardi general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and fixed asset software.
Good communication skills - verbal and written
Possess ability to multi task and work under deadlines
Well organized and able to work with and direct others in a team environment. This is a hands-on position where you will work directly with your team and get involved in all facets of the close process.
The ideal candidate should have an accounting degree and 7 - 10 years of direct real estate accounting experience. CPA helpful
