Requirements
Bank of the West currently has an opening in the RBG Administration group. This position will be responsible for RBG Product and Sales Strategy's analysis of portfolio performance, new business opportunities, product planning and profitability, product pricing activities, customer and household analytics while assisting in evaluating and determining RBG's strategic initiatives and setting short, mid, and long-term goals.
In this important role you will: 1. Develop complex financial and business models used to analyze product, pricing and portfolio data. Compiles and interprets statistical reports on current performance and future projections covering portfolio, product, customer and household performance. May direct others in the development of financial and statistical analysis.
2. Prepare and analyze financial projections related to new business opportunities and other significant changes proposed to existing business. Measure and analyze the results of new business and significant changes subsequent to implementation.
3. Make recommendations regarding strategic direction, new initiatives, and potential enhancements to existing business activities, working in conjunction with product and line managers. Assist in the development of mid-term and long-term goals and related measurement and reporting activities necessary to assess performance. Prepare management reports and makes presentations to executive management regarding these recommendations.
4. Assist in the development and implementation of customer and product profitability reporting in conjunction with various other units. Analyze product pricing and makes recommendations related to pricing strategies and the related risks and opportunities.
6. Researche relevant business developments in the organization and/or within the industry.
7. Assist new units and unit managers to develop an understanding of the Bank's profitability reporting, transfer pricing and budgeting processes.
Requirements: . Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience . Master's Degree or CPA preferred . 12 or more years of experience in banking/financial services industry preferred . 10 years of financial analysis experience . Thorough knowledge of financial and cost accounting, financial analysis and principles of economics . Thorough knowledge of financial institution balance sheet and profit and loss analysis techniques . Experience presenting financial results, budgets and financial recommendations to senior management . Thorough understanding of regulatory topics such as capital issues and GAAP accounting issues as they relate to the banking industry . Thorough understanding and application of principles, standards, industry practices, techniques and concepts, as well as contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards . Excellent analytical and research skills . Excellent presentation skills . Excellent verbal and written communication skills . Bank product and service knowledge . Extensive use of Microsoft Office
