Our client is currently seeking a Property Tax Collections Supervisor to direct and support the Corporate Collections staff within the Financial & Information Services department.
Responsibilities * Provide guidance, direction and assign verified work to Corporate Collections staff for the collection of Provincial Offences Act Fines, Property Taxes and General Accounts Receivables * Train staff as required on use of software and on business processes * Co-ordinate activities of section according to priorities and notify Manager of issues * Responsible for daily operation of collection activities including meeting with the public to discuss account status, resolve disputes and prepare payment arrangements * Assist Manager with more complex collections accounts * Responsible for financial analysis and reconciliation of accounts * Preparation of journal entries and preparation of cheque requisitions for remittances to the Province and other Municipalities * Prepare section year-end financial statement working papers * Review and assign defaulted accounts to collections agencies and Bailiff. Monitor accounts for recoveries and progress * Liaise with Collections Agencies and Bailiff for weekly remittances, invoices and reconciliation of payments * Oversee the preparation of legal documents pertaining to the registration of Tax Arrears Certificate and civil enforcement * Oversee the preparation and assist the Manager with the Tax Sale process * Liaise with the legal department for collection issues as required * Maintain key performance indicators for the collection section Requirements * Completion of 3rd level CGA required * Preference will be given to candidates who have completed the Municipal Tax Administration Program certificate * Over four years and up to and including eight years of experience in collection of defaulted property taxes and defaulted Provincial Offence Act fines, financial analysis and reconciliation * Superior organizational and time management skills * Superior customer services skills and ability to deal with difficult situations $ 55-60KApplyTell A Friend
