Project Manager of Federal & State Tax Job Description: In this position your primary function will be managing the government audits and Appeals. You’ll work closely with senior management on federal and state tax due diligence process related to acquisitions. You’ll be reviewing the transaction plans for federal and state issues to assist the company’s tax risks. Other duties shall include managing the staff pool with other tax department to ensure there are sufficient resources to drive the projects during the year. • Assist in driving efficiencies in the federal and state tax processes. • Monitor legislative changes and determine any impact to the company • Ensure necessary controls are in place and identifying necessary resources required to complete timely and accurate state tax returns and state estimated payments
Project Manager of Federal & State Tax Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelors degree (accounting major), MST preferred • CPA • Minimum 10 years federal and state income tax experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and/or comparable tax experience in a large corporation • Strong federal and state tax technical skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational skills and documentation skills • Ability to multi-task and prioritize • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization • Ability to research federal and state tax issues
