Programmer Analyst, Advanced (RPG)

The Programmer Analyst will work with a team of developers in the Information Technology Department to provide programming support for existing software enhancements. Support may be for either internal customers or external organizations.

  • Develops programming code for existing or new software enhancements
  • Clearly documents programming code modifications or new processes
  • Troubleshoots and debugs existing code
  • Tests code and fixes to ensure quality
  • Develops conversion and system implementation plans; implements newly created code and fixes into existing software
  • Provides programming support for various interfaces
  • Keeps key contacts informed of all enhancements, troubleshooting, and fixes
  • Completes project estimates and adheres to them on majority of assignments
  • Mentors, trains, develops and provides support to less experienced co-workers

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment with changing deadlines, project assignments, and strict time constraints.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Five years of programming experience in RPG ILE/SQLRPGLE/CLLE/DDS & IBM i-Series
  • Demonstrated experience working on moderately complex systems and projects
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work on moderately complex systems and diverse projects
  • Have ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Possesses solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the P&C insurance industry preferable
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, i.e., a good problem solver.
  • Able to meet aggressive deadlines with well-tested solutions
  • Knowledgeable in Change Management Systems
