Job Description Overview: This position is responsible for the standardization and implementation of the ETL code (DCS) used by the Actuarial IT unit for its Valuation, Projection, and ALM/EC models, utilizing SDLC methodology. This individual will supervise a team of developers and testers who will follow best practices in creating or modifying code to transform raw data extracts into standard formats used as input to the Prophet model. This individual will be a gatekeeper for DCS code implementation, and play a significant role in upholding coding standards and performing configuration management, keeping model coding changes and associated DCS changes in sync. This individual will need to be involved at the micro level in managing the detailed tasks performed by the DCS team, as well as at the macro level in understanding the part DCS coding plays in the end-to-end process of implementing Prophet at many local offices throughout the world.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: . Ensure all DCS code adheres to DCS Coding Standards . Maintain DCS Coding Standards, updating and distributing as appropriate . Conduct defect resolution and tracking for Integration testing, Regression testing, and Parallel testing . Perform resolution and tracking of Change Requests . Perform Integration testing in Prophet Professional . Provide overall guidance to DCS Coders and DCS Testers, enforcing standards and looking for opportunities to improve code efficiency . Capture Integration Testing Performance Metrics . Maintain Status Reporting and Tracking of components . Perform initial review of DCS code and participate in development code reviews . Address and resolve issues with local data . Establish testing methodology and strategy . Maintain Status Reports of Test Execution and Metrics . Track and maintain test case generation . Participate in country-level meetings as needed to be proactive in addressing DCS needs. . Manage resource scheduling, assignments, and workload . Define and maintain infrastructure (directory structure etc.) to ensure smooth transition between different stages of DCS programs (coding, testing, regression testing, integration testing, and production) . Provide feedback to management about the issues or factors outside the control of the DCS area which may have significant impact on the performance of the DCS area (for example, consistency or similarity of the extract data source) Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Education Required: . Bachelor's degree or related work experience . 10+ years development experience with an object-oriented language . 3+ years experience in a supervisory position . Knowledge of transactional SQL . Experience developing test strategies and test plans . In-depth knowledge of the QA process . Strong programming and analytical skills . Understanding and experience utilizing the full SDLC methodology . Adept at supervising multiple work streams simultaneously . Must be able to conform to shifting priorities and demands and be flexible during times of change. . Highly competent with the Microsoft Office suite of applications. . Experience performing the role of business analyst is a plus . Experience setting coding standards and performing code reviews is a plus .
