Product Quality and Research Analyst (Sports Marketing/Retail)This job contributes to our success by facilitating the discovery, investigation, analysis, and resolution or coordination of internal response to quality issues affecting all products sold by our company. Works with vendors and internal partners to facilitate acceptable and equitable resolutions to product quality issues. Also works proactively documenting, tracking and capturing product data in the system that becomes a guideline for our product decisions. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding values and mission.
Responsibilities:
Receives, investigates and resolves all reports of potential product quality issues (clearinghouse for all reports of potentially nonconforming products), using an appropriate level of urgency. Analyzes all available product performance indicators, including product returns data and research results, making recommendations to improve quality of products, processes and systems. Provides regular status updates internally in a timely manner and keeps business partners continuously informed on quality issues. Works with internal partners in Merchandising, Product Quality Audit, Product Testing, Engineering, Retail Operations and with external partners at supplier or outside vendor 3rd party laboratory to determine validity and scope of reported product issues. Recommends what actions, if any, our company will undertake in response to potential quality related issues. Documents all corrective actions and report resolution. Crafts and ensures full implementation of acceptable and equitable resolutions to all product quality issues. Authors and publishes all product quality memos or other appropriate product disposition communications. Work with Vendor Returns... Improve current Non-conformity reporting system in Access to better capture data and improve quality feed-back loop. Assist in establish an active system for measuring and tracking environmental impacts associated with our quality program. This work will be conducted in collaboration with the Product Sustainability Analyst. Develop an understanding of our product stewardship program in order to proactively reduce environmental impacts associated with product quality.
Qualifications:
5+ years experience working in Product Quality Assurance, Audit, Compliance or related field, preferred. Excellent analytical skills consisting of proven ability to grasp and anticipate broad quality and regulatory issues and implement multi-level solutions. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate product quality and compliance matters at all levels of the organization and with outside parties including governmental entities and suppliers. Excel at communicating and navigating challenging situations. Well-developed social skills with a high sense of diplomacy without compromising integrity. Must be a resilient rapid decision maker with a very positive attitude. A partner to solutions focused on the end goal. A developed investigative mind experienced in getting to the bottom of issues. Demonstrated leadership skills: commitment, integrity, accountability, and responsibility, ability to foster teamwork within formal team settings and among informal networks. Proven ability to work independently is critical to success and employ the involvement of others to identify, analyze and objectively problem solve promptly and meticulously. Ability to negotiate product quality resolution firmly, inclusively, positively, and diplomatically on our behalf. Intuitive and practical PC knowledge including Excel and Word, with the ability to intuitively recognize and recommend improvements to proprietary systems. Practical experience with a substantial portion of our product assortment. Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across our company for the achievement of business goals. Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at our company.
