Product Manager - Trade Finance
OVERVIEW: This person will be responsible for pipeline research and prioritization, deal structuring, internal/external communications and representing the Product organization on client sales calls as a solutions overlay expert. He/she will compliment the Trade Sales and Client Management organizations and act as a cross functional liaison within Citibank.
Citi Supplier Finance (CSF) is a key component of our client's financial supply chain. CSF provides billions of dollars per year of early payment liquidity to our client's global supply chains and is used by many of the world's largest companies across all industry sectors. CSF is a global product line within Global Transaction Services (GTS) and incorporates software, client-facing services, asset distribution, supplier on-boarding, legal, sales and marketing capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -Provide Product specific expertise to Trade Sales and Client Management during the end-to-end sales process -Collaborate with Trade Sales and Client Management to research targeted clients, perform an analysis on the client's supply base and produce bespoke structuring and economic value estimates -Participate from deal identification through mandate, close and program ramp up -Collaborate with Citi experts in asset distribution, supplier on-boarding, legal and systems capabilities -Collaborate cross-functionally with the Receivables Finance, Cash, Procure to Pay and Liquidity teams -Analyze and prioritize the sales pipeline and identify new or expanded business opportunities -Ensure appropriate focus, resources and Citibank solutions are put in front of clients -Represent customer needs and provide feedback around Product features, functionality and overall competitiveness -Collaborate with marketing to increase awareness of Supplier Finance
EXPECTED OUTCOMES -Influence $10mm+ of achieved revenue annually -Robust, active product pipeline with items moving to closure -Reduction in average time from origination to close / revenue -Standardized and evolved client-facing marketing and sales materials -Significant expansion of existing programs
KEY CHALLENGES -Guide, educate and support Trade Sales and Client Management teams -Address needs of customers and staff from multiple industry segments and with multiple product needs -Work with corporate bankers, deal structurers and risk managers to ensure credit lines are appropriately utilized and deals are acceptably structured from all risk management points of view -Successfully balance customers' needs versus Sales' priorities in product investment discussions
DEVELOPMENT: Candidate will: -Grow in ability to structure supplier finance deals and communicate resulting value -Gain exposure to clients in the region working closely with Trade Sales and Client Management -Develop in-depth product knowledge across the GTS product range -Directly influence product marketing and regularly interface with GTS senior management.
Qualifications
-Generally, this person should have at least 10 years experience in Sales and client-facing Product roles -Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree desirable -Experience in delivering results and meeting financial targets; PnL management -Strong organizational and presentation skills -Excellent client interaction history -Extensive knowledge of trade finance, trade services and Procure to Pay -Strong financial background (e.g. MBA) preferred
