Description: Phoenix-based Salt River Project (SRP), the nation's third-largest public power and water utility is recruiting for a Senior Program Manager to oversee SRP's model building energy code & appliance standards initiatives.
In search of an individual with knowledge of and ability to apply technical building science concepts, statistical methods, economic analyses, financial evaluations and cost benefit calculations. Advanced written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with and influence decision makers. Ability to present highly technical data in a manner that facilitates comprehension and decision-making by management, policymakers and other targeted audiences.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing energy policy recommendations as they relate to the advancement of model energy codes and appliance standards. Represents SRP with internal and external audiences, calling on building code and elected officials, presenting at city council meetings, and applying specific industry knowledge and experience to advance SRP's sustainable portfolio objectives. Collaborate with SRP's local and federal Public Affairs team to improve the effectiveness of SRP's initiative. Actively participate in industry associations and take leadership role in local and national committees that evaluate new codes and standards. Monitors and analyzes legislative, regulatory and other code adoption activities affecting industry interests; coordinates and conducts internal review of codes and standards proposals, and engages in associated development process. Documenting all activities and tracking results to verify appropriate savings credit. Responsible for planning and coordinating training and additional consultative services to assist municipalities with code adoption. Facilitates customer and shareholder satisfaction while ensuring that SRP's business interests are served. Develops and recommends to SRP executive management positions on critical issues and strategies for implementation.
Ideal candidate will have five years or more of experience in the field of building design, energy management, sustainability or other applied energy-related experience.
This position requires a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Marketing, Business Administration or Economics.
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Currently, SRP does not sponsor H1B visas.
