Position Overview: Responsible for preparing and maintaining various accounting records for the site. Investigates, analyzes and resolves variances from standard cost. Investigates any departmental expense variances from forecast and budget. Provides financial support to the plant manager and staff.
Responsibilities:
Examines labor records to determine accuracy of reported labor.
Monitors the issuance of material to verify that the material is being applied to jobs correctly.
Tests piecework counts for accuracy to prevent fictitious reporting or errors which lead to losses.
Maintains and initiates controls which aid in the reduction of variances
Assists in the physical inventory process.
Works with plant management, and supervision in compiling planned cost and variable budgets.
Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
Monitors department budgets and aids in keeping plant management and supervisors within budget for expenditures.
Assists in establishing department rates
Prepares special reports when required.
Assist management in the preparation of annual expense and capital budgets and related analysis.
Provide reports to management on Actual vs. Budget expenses, and assist plant manager to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare plant overhead budgets.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree (BS) and three (+) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting systems and software; MFG-Pro Manufacturing software; and MS Office suite.
