Job Description: You will be responsible and in charge of all plant accounting functions in accordance with corporate directions. You will prepare financial reports and offer advice and assistance to all levels of management regarding the plant’s financial performance. This position will report to the Corporate Controller with a dotted line responsibility to the VP of manufacturing. Primarily the essential duties and responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned. •Directs (overall responsibility) for all plant financial activities including the plant’s accounting, provides strategic and technical guidance, leadership, and direction to management regarding the financial management of the manufacturing facility. •Maintains standard cost and monitors entries into the manufacturing cost system. Understands and analyzes variances and reports to management on actions needed to improve efficiency and to reduce the cost of production. •Responsible for the accounting system at the plant and for the all input and integrity of the data and system. •Responsible for tight internal controls and segregation of duties at the plant. Ensure overall financial functional due diligence and adherence to corporate policies and procedures. •Prepares and administers departmental budgets, exercises general directions over the preparation of the plant’s annual budgets and capital expenditures plans, monitors performance against budgeted targets, formulates and recommends specific courses of action to resolve problems areas. •Directs the preparation of the plant’s financial information to corporate office; ensures all data is accurately and uniformly recorded on a timely basis and properly reported to represent the plant’s financial position. •Conducts studies and analyses of internal financial data; interprets and reports to management significant events and practices having an impact on plant operations. Direct participation in the formulation of short and long-range financial goals and objectives, analyzes financial aspects of strategies and plans and makes specific recommendations which will result in cost reductions and profit improvements. •Supervises maintenance of ledgers; all inventory records and related accounting reports, files and documents; ensures all accounting functions are performed accurately and on a timely basis. Understands, analyzes and reviews all new product costing. •Act as liaison between the plant and the corporate office as well as other segments of the organization on financial matters to ensure adherence to professional accounting principles, concepts and techniques. •Performs all other assignments as given by senior functional and line management. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years experience in accounting in a manufacturing plant environment with demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting and financial analysis. Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CMA or CPA is a plus. Team attitude and strong initiative. Hands-on management style, strong computer knowledge skills. Previous experience with MISys and/or Quick Books would be beneficial. There may be some flexibility with years of experience depending on exposure, skills and responsibilities in previous/current position.
