Details Date Posted: 2010-08-24 Located In: Nashville, TN Wages / Salary: DOE Department: Finance Hours: 37.5 hours per week Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Standard operating hours Days of Week: Monday - Friday Start Date: Immediately Number of Openings: 1 Contact Name: Christy Lewellen, Manager, Human Resources Address: 150 4th Ave N, Ste #700 FAX: Description Major Responsibilities: - Process NASBA payroll with approximately 225 checks semi-monthly and Guam payroll with 5 to 10 checks semi-monthly. - Process PCS payroll with approximately 150 to 200 checks semi-monthly and Engineering Examination payroll with approximately 450 checks twice per year (end of October and April). - Process and payout garnishments and employee charitable contributions. - Filing of various payroll-related tax returns. - Report salaries and loan deferrals each pay period to retirement plan administrator. - Assist with annual 401k and financial statement audits. - Keep up to date with various changes in payroll-related tax rates. - Supervise and train all NASBA employees on the time and attendance software, reviewing time and checking for supervisors approval on a weekly basis. - Create and enter payroll-related journal entries. - Perform monthly reconciliation of payroll-related bank accounts. - Various end of month and ad-hoc analysis and assignments. Required Skills & Qualities: - Proficient Excel skills - Access skills or ability to learn Access - Highly detailed oriented and organized in work - Ability to meet deadlines - Willing to work more than normal business hours during busy times - Have a “customer” focus through assisting employees with payroll-related issues - Able to work as a team player - Positive, can-do attitude - Previous experience working in payroll is preferred, but not required All candidates must be able to pass a criminal, credit history, and education credential background screening to be considered for job placement.
