Payroll Specialist
Cook Compression/A Dover Company, a world leader in the manufacturing of mechanical sealing devices serving the natural gas and petrochemical industries, is seeking a Payroll Specialist for its Jeffersonville, Indiana facility. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the entire payroll process for one or more locations within Cook Compression. Responsibilities include:
. Processing payrolls for multiple locations as assigned. . Balancing weekly and semi-monthly deductions . Transmitting electronic file to Wells Fargo in a timely manner for 401(k) reporting . Compiling payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance, and 401(k) deductions . Working with shop supervision to correct any clock-in/clock-out errors so that payroll is processed correctly . Creating journal entries . Working with Accounting Department to ensure accurate reporting for payroll taxes, etc.
Qualifications:
. Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws is also a must . Strong knowledge of Excel is essential . Clear written and verbal communications . Organization skills . Good time management skills . Excellent attention to detail . Work well in a team environment . Able to maintain confidential information
Experience:
. 1-2 years experience processing payroll . Experience with Optimum Solutions-Windows Suite a plus . Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
Compensation:
