Payroll Administrator

The WVSG Recruitment team is currently seeking a Payroll Administrator for our client in Oakland, CA.


 


Our client focuses on the transformation and enhancement of connectivity, providing the foundation for advanced communications and improving the overall communications experience for our customers and their subscribers.


 


The Payroll Administrator will also be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:


 



  • Bi-weekly payroll processing including collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data.

  • Maintain payroll records for changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.

  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

  • Time management system administrator.  Training new users, granting access, updating system and user information.

  • Provides payroll information to employees including answering questions and requests.

  • Prepare 401k and FSA reports and funding documentation and spreadsheets.

  • Prepare PTO and stock administration reports HR.

  • Ensure accurate and timely quarterly and annual payroll tax filings.

  • Prepare Oracle payroll journal entry.

  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested by supervisors. 



Requirements:

The Successful Candidate must have:


  



  • Bachelor's degree or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation (preferred).

  • Minimum 2-5 years of payroll/timesheet administration experience is required using. ADP or similar payroll software system in a mid-size company (250-500 employees).

  • Strong knowledge of accounting / payroll systems (Pro business preferred).

  • Computer and mathematical aptitude.

  • Ability to follow-up on complex and detailed work activities.

  • High degree of confidentiality, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and spreadsheet preparation skills.

  • Good communication skills, tact, discretion, and dependability.

  • High ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and oral) .

  • Proactive and independent self-starter personality.

  • Must possess strong knowledge of federal, state, and local wages, over-time, tax, and deduction regulations.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of STD, LTD, FMLA, 403(b), 457, and other benefits plans as they relate to payroll deduction.

  • Experience processing high-volume payroll.

  • High degree of sensitivity to payroll-related deadlines and commitment to ensure that all deadlines are met.
