This is a working supervisor role to oversee team of 4 to perform analysis, resolution and documentation of payroll taxes to payroll runs, invoices to bank statements, garnishments to employee withholdings, and other payments to deductions to ensure a balanced general ledger.  Supervise unclaimed property processing and reconciling outstanding issues on the payroll cash account. Researching outstanding payroll tax issues and working with third party payroll processor to resolve issues.  Supervise the year end process.   Must take initiative to self teach and understand why processes are in place. Makes suggestions for process improvements and supports Payroll Manager in all duties.

• Preparation of payroll reconciliations on a per payroll basis.
• Monthly escheatment processing and file creation to remove checks from the outstanding check list.
• Responsible for the clearing of outstanding tax issues from outside agencies and third party processor.
• Responsible for all year end processing (W2-W2C) activity.
• Routinely analyze current processes to identify cost savings and increase efficiencies.
• Responsible for supervision for all garnishment processing.
• Effectively communicate with team members, managers, business partners, vendors, and field staff to obtain problem resolution, adding value to all interactions and creating a “team” environment.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance product knowledge as it relates to accounting and financial matters.
• On an ongoing basis, demonstrate advanced technology skills with continuous expansion of knowledge as it relates to software applications.
• Collaborate with Payroll Manager in establishing personal performance and production goals, taking initiative in identifying specific development tasks for advanced problem resolution and analyses within specialization area.
• Adhere to departmental internal controls, escalating to management knowledge of variances from established work protocol.
• Comply with all company policies and departmental procedures, ensuring honest and ethical conduct at all times.
• Responsible for the timely completion of employment verifications.
• Complete all assignments timely and accurately.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or 3 to 5 years of related work experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Payroll processing, and ADP/Pro Business tax knowledge are all a plus.
