North America Technical Accounting and Compliance (Sports Management/Finance/Admin)
As our Technical Accounting and Compliance Manager for North America, you will be responsible for all dimensions of the SOX 404 compliance function for the geography and will engage in and advise the organization on transactions highly technical in nature.
Key responsibilities include:
ú Manage and coordinate all SOX 404 Compliance activities for the North America, including annual risk assessment, internal control evaluation, design and testing. ú Advise the organization on the accounting implications of business decisions, including contract accounting. ú Evaluate organizational strategies, transaction streams and accounting processes and advise on proper accounting treatment and effective internal controls in accordance with US GAAP, Accounting Policy and Global Compliance Requirements. ú Partner with finance counterparts to provide input in the budgeting and forecasting process and the review of operational results. Educate business managers on financial implications of business decisions. ú Work closely with cross-functional counterparts on partnership contracts and develop and maintain processes to account for new transaction streams. ú Provide recommendations and input on key financial and performance management metrics to optimize the short-term/long-term goals critical to North America's success. ú Be part of the larger Controlling Organization and embrace best practices.
Qualifications
ú Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field ú A minimum of 4 years experience in accounting, finance or related functions ú Big 4 Public accounting experience and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred ú Experience with accounting for multi-element revenue recognition, software capitalization and contract accounting strongly preferred. ú Experience with a Fortune 500/multinational consumer products company is preferred ú Enthusiasm for our company's Brand and Technical Accounting ú Strong understanding and application of managerial concepts and techniques in areas such as project/change management, idea creation, and cross-team effectiveness ú Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate status, issues, and risks with senior leadership team ú Advanced ability to handle multiple and competing priorities and requests ú Strong ability to problem solve, communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience ú Strong ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers ú Ability to pass a 7 year background check
