This position requires an experienced, proactive individual to address a variety of technology development, organizational and management tasks on behalf of the government customer. Provide technical and programmatic advisory and assistance services within the Physical Networks and Network Theory Capability Area of Thrust Area 2, Cognitive and Information uired Skills The ideal candidate will preferably have a Ph.D. and 10+ yrs. experience after Ph.D., including research and publication experience related to theory, analysis, modeling, and implementation of physical network function, topology, statistical behavior, and overall resilience when challenged by a variety of threats, including WMD. Relevant physical networks may include IT, communications, transportation, supply chain, etc. Potentially relevant Ph.D. fields include but are not limited to Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, and Physics. More relevant than a specific Ph.D. field is the experience as described below. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Requires excellent skills using a personal computer and Microsoft Office. Must have proven record as a team member and be able to complete work with minimum guidance and supervision. Desire experience that demonstrates ability to understand the reaction of entire networks to challenges and how to model and plan for overall network resilience. In addition to technical expertise, must have demonstrated skills and strengths in written and, especially, oral communication, in mentoring, in analyzing and prioritizing program needs and solutions, and in building an efficient team in a government working environment. Individual must have experience in providing senior oversight and guidance, supporting and mentoring a junior government thrust area manager and assigned post-docs.
