Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.
Position Summary: The Network Engineer position will designing, configuring, installing, maintaining, and repairing network systems, subsystems and servers. The candidate will also provide information, direction and/or recommendations regarding network installations and configurations; resolving network operational issues; Overseeing software and network security; Monitor system performance and implements performance tuning and provide technical support to customer and end-user. This position also involves the analysis, design, and implementation of network upgrades for hardware and software.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: ? Cisco IOS routers and switches ? Alcatel Lucent routers and switches ? Dell switches ? Knowledge of VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree protocol. ? Knowledge of routing protocols (EIGRP, RIP, and OSPF, and BGP) ? LAN/WAN Support ? Network Access Support ? Network infrastructure design and implementation in segregated iSCSI and virtualized environment ? Analysis of network traffic during design across multiple core and edge switches to identify potential bottlenecks ? VLAN design to accommodate specific network traffic types per customer requirements ? In-depth troubleshooting, configuration, and design of IP networks using the following routing methods: BGP, ISIS or OSPF, Static routing, and redistribution of static and connected routes into routing protocols. ? In-depth troubleshooting of either service provider or enterprise IP networks using Serial, SONET, and Ethernet type interfaces on Cisco or Juniper routers. ? In depth knowledge of ports and protocols. ? Ability to communicate orally, and in writing, detailed technical information on troubleshooting and implementation efforts. ? Communication will be with other contractors as well as Government personnel. ? Familiarization of DOD regulations and directives. ? Equally proficient in Juniper and Cisco configuration, troubleshooting, and design. ? Pearl or other language scripting capable of running backup configurations and other scripting to pull information from Cisco/Juniper routers ? IPSEC configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience. ? MPLS configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience. ? QoS configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience. ? IPV6 configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience. ? Information Assurance knowledge and experience. ? Physical cable plant and wiring experience ? Ability to successfully complete the CGI Federal Background Investigation ? Ability to attain and maintain a SECRET security clearance is required for continued employment; US Citizenship is required. ? Ability to travel up to 25% or less. ? Travel to various Government or customer sites for installation, integration, and troubleshooting of integrated systems. ? Strong written and oral communication skills. ? Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems ? Ability to communicate effectively with multiple customers as well as with internal teams
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: ? Certifications: MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CNE ? Data center network design and support. ? CompTia Security +. ? Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification
Education: Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar and a minimum of 5 years directly related work experience required.
