Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops strong relationships with network providers and internal business partners leading to the achievement of provider satisfaction, medical cost targets, network growth and/or efficiency targets.
- Design, develop, contract, maintain and enhance relationships with facilities, physicians , health care systems, and ancillary providers which serve as contractual networks of care for members; foster growth of managed care products; and enhance profitability of Aetna.
- Communicates with external constituents to effectively engage the provider community and demonstrate the Aetna value proposition.
- Proactively identifies new trends and products within Aetna and the industry and works to raise awareness throughout the organization in order to gain consensus on a course of action and ultimately drive to implementation.
- Collaborates cross-functionally on more complex issues to ensure provider needs are met and outstanding issues are resolved.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Previous physician network experience within managed care/healthcare is desired.
- Successfully organize, manage and track operational issues impacting relationship between Aetna and Provider.
- Analyze medical cost drivers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with physician and business leadership of key physician groups, hospitals and integrated delivery systems.
- Identify customer requirements and critical customer touchpoints within business process.
- Demonstrating Business and Industry Acumen.
- Analyze and refine provider networks to assure appropriate network composition.
- Work on operational issues with the Providers; there will be some contract negotiation.
- Act as a point of escalation for customers, team members and management and ensure optimum service quality through ongoing management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Educate providers on contract requirements.
- Introduce Aetna products and services to providers and their staff.
