Title: Mortgage Underwriter 3 - Englewood Location: Colorado-Englewood Provides quality loans for the company by underwriting and evaluating residential mortgage applications originated by U.S. Bank branch offices. Evaluates the credit and property documentation on loan files so that appropriate decisions are made as to the acceptability of the investment risk. Maintains a daily workload as needed to ensure prompt turnaround time as dictated by senior management. Approves, declines, or suspends/returns any single-family residential mortgage loan submission. Provides prompt, quality service to the originating branches and correspondents in a friendly and professional manner. Evaluates the risk of residential mortgage loans on a timely basis based on sound underwriting decisions. Measures all mortgage loan submissions for underwriting decisions based on company quality control plans and investor/regulatory compliance.

Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Five or more years of mortgage underwriting experience, including FHA, VA and HUD loans - FHA Mortgage Credit Examiner certification - FHA Direct Endorsement Underwriting designation - VA Staff Appraisal Reviewer (SAR) designation
Preferred Skills/Experience - Advanced knowledge of real estate values and credit analysis - Good mathematical skills - Proficient computer skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
