Managing Director – Mutual Fund Accounting Business Operations –istered Funds
Location –Wilmington,DE Reports to –CFO,istered Mutual Funds
Responsibilities Working with a team of 20+ professionals: * Establish, implement and monitor fund accounting policies and new pronouncements; * Maintain documentation of fund accounting policies; * Oversee several unaffiliated fund accountants and related fund custody functions; * Oversee fund valuation process, including fair valuation assessment and documentation; * Resolve fund accounting and operational issues as they arise; * Prepare quarterly board reports related to fund accounting, valuation and custody matters; * Oversee fund expense budgeting and monitoring; * Oversee fund accounting/custody matters related to new funds and fund reorganizations; * Manage fund credit relationships; * Oversee tax reclamation process and aged receivables monitoring; * Support fund audit function; * Management reporting of above functions. Qualifications * Bachelors degree in accounting or finance * CPA and/or 5+ years of relevant public accounting experience preferred * 15+ years in mutual fund accounting or administration, or equivalent experience * Minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience; demonstrated experience in leading teams of professionals, staff development, coaching and performance assessments * Strong technical knowledge of mutual fund GAAP/financial reporting, mutual fund accounting and custody operations * Functional knowledge of Subchapter M * Functional knowledge of the 1940 Act and Investment Advisers Act * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Strong organizational skills; ability to manage several ongoing and ad hoc projects simultaneously * Investment accounting experience in international funds, complex derivatives, complex fixed income, money market, closed-end funds
