Overview :
The engineer / maintenance technician is an integral part of Macy's ability to maintain the building environment through BAS systems. Our engineers handle problems, projects and other issues as directed by the Chief and District Facilities Manager. The engineer / maintenance technician must be flexible and respond to the growing and changing needs of the company.
Key Accountabilities :
Responsible for installation, maintenance, operation and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and building systems.
Ensure proper operation of building systems in compliance with required regulations and codes.
Maintain and evaluate equipment by using instrumentation. Test and calibrate electronic HVAC and building environmental controls ensuring equipment is functioning properly.
Performs as required skilled maintenance activities to include but not limited to construction, welding, soldering, electrical, mechanical and plumbing. Inspects and repairs HVAC equipment: pumps, fans, valves, motors to ensure proper operation.
Performs routine scheduled preventive maintenance duties to include filter changes, lubricating equipment, equipment readings, etc. Performs fire/life/safety inspections and maintains necessary records.
Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with established work standards
Perform maintenance duties in one or more facilities as needed by the Chief and / or DFM
Complies with all company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards of business ethics and conduct. Must be a team player.
Assist as needed on PM's and work on vertical equipment
Actively participates in safety programs and disaster preparedness to ensure a safe, clean and organized environment for customers, vendors and employees.
Part of on-call rotation, must be available 24/7 when on call
Skills Summary :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance / repair
Current Universal CFC certificate
Strong analytic skills
