The Loan Processing Specialist (LPS) serves the association’s internal and external customers by providing support to Business Analysts, Financial Services Officers and Customer Service Representatives and to the Capital Markets department and customers.
The primary responsibilities in the Central Processing Unit are to process loan requests, loan servicing requests, and other credit services. The primary responsibilities in the Capital Markets Department are to provide administrative support for Capital Markets accounts.
The LPS participates in the ongoing design of processes to provide exceptional service, achieve satisfactory credit administration goals, and achieve targeted credit quality while providing adequate compensation for risk.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS: Provides support to Business Analysts, Financial Services Officers, Customer Services Representatives and Loan Processors in the Capital Markets Department that allows the association to build relationships that exceed customer expectations.
2. PREPARATION OF LOAN CLOSING DOCUMENTS:Prepares closing and legal documents within association time guidelines. Enters data into origination systems and verifies that data has been entered accurately after the loan is closed and booked.
3. LOAN PROCESSING: Inputs financial information into the loan origination package for non-scored loans and provides prompt turnaround processing for new loans and loan servicing requests from application through post closing activities. Helps achieve satisfactory credit administration on all loans processed. Monitors the status of loans in process to insure coordination between external and internal ermines (preliminary analysis) if differential analysis requirements are met with submitted loan packages.
4. MAINTAINENCE AND MONITORING OF LOAN INFORMATION: Inputs data entry in loan booking systems and maintains accurate database.
Education and Experience This is an entry level position for a Loan Processing Specialist. The primary responsibility is to become a fully functional Loan Processing Specialist through training and on the job experience. Post High School education from business school; or high school diploma and 1 or more years experience in accounting, computer and credit, with increasing responsibilities. Credit experience includes applicant screening, loan processing, loan closings and loan document review.
Minimum Qualifications: Post High School education from business school and 3 or more years experience in accounting, computer and credit, with increasing responsibilities; or high school diploma and 4 or more years of the previously mentioned experience. Credit experience includes applicant screening, loan processing, loan closings and loan document review. FCS experience is required and performance level at Grades, 6, 7 and 8 always exceeded expectations and performance was often at an Outstanding level.
