Northrop Grumman Technical Services is seeking a Labor Relations manager. The individual will be responsible for union negotiations, CBA contract interpretations, providing guidance on grievances with current union representation on seven programs covering represented 1500 employees at multiple locations with multiple bargaining agreements and unions. The person selected will provide Labor Relations and HR expertise advising management on matters pertaining to labor contract negotiation, grievances, arbitrations, conciliations, and federal/state labor legislation. They will represent management in collective bargaining with unions representing company employees and negotiates CBA provisions.
Prepares briefs and conducts or participates in the conduct of presentations at hearings. Provide guidance to the capture and business development teams analyzing RFP/PWS documents for business opportunities that include existing CBAs and SCA language. Reviews and suggest changes to existing labor relations policies, and ensures consistent application of company policies and procedures. Performs internal audits and takes appropriate action to correct any labor relations issues. Manages grievance resolution procedures. Assures compliance with federal, state and local laws that influence union and labor relations; responds to union and governmental inquiries or complaints; coordinates their resolution. Represents the company in dealings with governmental agencies. Participates in informational programs and preparation of employee handbooks and manuals to effect cooperation and coordination in union-employee management relations.
Frequent travel will be required
Reqirements:
Bachelor's Degree and/or Certification in Labor Relations and 10 years experience in human resources, at least 5 of which must be in a union represented environment. Position requires an advanced level of understanding in labor relations, demonstrated success in representing management in collective bargaining and grievance management, preferably in a government contracting environment with programs covered by the Service Contract Act. Requires demonstrated communications and presentation skills; A general understanding of diverse HR disciplines such as compensation, benefits, labor/employee relations, & HR administration is highly desirable.
50% travel required.
