Position: Java Development Lead
Overview: The Java Dev Lead will be responsible for the delivery of web applications serving global stakeholders. The individual will be focused on the management of web projects prioritized by BlackRock business channels and will be accountable for all project phases including analysis, design, development, unit testing, and implementation.
Key Job Responsibilities: * Lead software development teams in the design, development, and delivery of global web projects. * Work with project managers, business owners, and analysts through the entire SDLC, understanding and refining systems requirements. * Understand existing systems, and resolve operations issues while working with other engineering staff located across the globe. * Lead development teams in contributing towards our target technical architectures. * Solve client problems and communicate resolutions for existing systems.
Skills/Requirements: * 2+ years leading software development teams. * 5+ years hands-on design and Java development experience with services oriented architectures, Java application servers (JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, ATG), and database access tools (Hibernate, iBATIS, JDBC). * 5+ years database experience (SQL, DDL/DML, stored procedures, data modeling). Sybase experience preferred. * 4+ years UNIX experience (ksh, bash, shell scripts). * Java web application development experience highly preferred (Spring, Struts, JSP, Servlets, JSTL). * Strong foundation in SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Unified Process) * Experience with Test Driven Development highly preferred (JUnit, TestNG, EasyMock, JMock). * Financial knowledge and interest strongly recommended. * Experience working with global project stakeholders spread across several time zones. * Strong teamwork, communication skills and time management abilities.
Reporting Relationships This position reports directly to a technical manager.
