Title: Information Assurance Engineer, Senior Location: Virginia-Herndon
Key Role: Provide Information Assurance (IA) analysis and the certification and accreditation (C&A) expertise required to support the execution of all the steps necessary for obtaining DIACAP accreditations and maintaining complete C&A packages for all Military Sealift Command (MSC) IT systems and sites. Review security requirements, products, configurations, and IA architectures to ensure the government and vendor's security architecture and associated accreditation documentation meets Department of the Navy and DoD IA controls and standards. Provide advice and recommended direction on IA and C&A matters, participate in collaborative team meetings to coach program managers and IA practitioners through certification and compliance processes, provide programmatic support in a dynamic and challenging environment, and track critical IA processes and elements through the use of automated and semi-automated tools. Maintain the accurate, steady, and consistent flow of information in response to client direction through established processes. Enhance existing IA doctrine and processes through the application of project management expertise. Provide analysis for the development of local- and Navy-level IA and C&A policy. Perform as a primary action officer or project management liaison and provide advanced communications, negotiation, coordination, and facilitation expertise. Basic Qualifications: -4 years of experience with performing information assurance (IA) tasks in operational network environments -4 years of experience in security test and evaluation with at least one of those years under DIACAP (DoDI 8510.01) -4 years of experience with Retina, DISA Gold Disk, DISA STIGS, and SRR scripts -2 years of experience with providing IA guidance and identifying IA requirements for system development or engineering projects -Experience with Windows operating systems, including W2K, W2K3, XP, W2K8, or Vista, UNIX, Linux, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, Demilitarized Zones (DMZs), Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), routers, switches, and SSL -Knowledge of DIACAP, DCID 6/3, NIACAP, or other C&A and risk management methodologies -Knowledge of DoDD 8500.1, DoDI 8500.2, DoDI 5200.40, DoDI 5239.13, and other IA guidance -Secret clearance required -BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications: -5 years of experience with LAN and WAN network services, including firewalls, DMZ's, routers, Active Directory, intrusion detection systems (IDS), VPN's, PKI, DNS, configuration and maintenance, network monitoring, and protocol traffic management -2 years of experience with working in a DoD environment, preferably Navy -Experience with large platform afloat communications suites and information systems management preferred -Experience with developing IA or Security CONOPS -Experience with IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) preferred -Knowledge of MSC's IA policy, COMSCINST 5239.3A, and Department of Navy DIACAP Handbook -Knowledge of system development life cycle -Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills -CISSP Certification -CISA Certification or approved Fully Qualified Navy Certification Agent -Security, Operating System, or IA-enabled Device Certification
