Job Summary: Following established procedures, responds to inquiries from registered representatives that are complex in nature; is aware of dealer campaigns, promotions and special events, along with different selling styles in each distribution channel. Provides information on MFS funds, portfolio composition, product design, , traditional and Roth IRA'S and Marketing and Sales Material to promote the sales of MFS products and the retention of MFS assets. Consistently utilizes the skills necessary to identify and maximize every sales opportunity.
Prinicpal Responsibilities: * Responds to complex telephone inquiries from registered representatives by providing detailed information about MFS funds, Closed End Funds, , traditional and Roth IRA's including: top 10 holdings, past performance, prices, yields, investment objectives, portfolio manager updates, capital gain/dividend information, asset allocations, market outlooks, Morning Star/Lipper ratings and current sales literature. * Responds to telephone inquiries regarding information on investment updates utilizing the Internet/Intranet, MFS Web Site, financial publications and various internal resources to keep abreast of the stock and bond market outlooks, portfolio strategies and legislative changes. * Runs several hypothetical illustrations using Morningstar Advisor Workstation gathering pertinent information including: dollar amounts, products, dates, systematic investments/withdrawals and other scenarios as requested. * Creates sales leads and sales opportunities for all distribution channels by probing callers and offering marketing support. * Keeps abreast of all new and existing technology applications, including: Saleslogix (sales reporting system), Morningstar Advisor Workstation (hypothetical software program) Internet/Intranet, Desktop faxing, E-mail, and other related Sales Desk applications. * Assists with backup support in absence of wholesaler and sales desks. Duties include: reading daily sales, making thank you calls, assisting with service matters, new products and various related tasks. * Performs duties of Sales Desk Representatives in their absence; including making proactive calls and resolving complex issues. * Utilizes strong communication skills, selling skills and professionalism to converse with the brokerage community offering the highest level of marketing support. * Assists with the training process of new Inbound Sales Desks, as well as demonstrating strong team work within the department. * Performs additional responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications: * Associate's degree or equivalent. * Minimum of one year of experience at MFS (preferably in a marketing or client services position), or 1 1/2 years' related experience at another financial services firm. * Demonstrated initiative in assuming additional responsibilities in current/prior roles. * Demonstrated team player. * Strong verbal communication skills. * Thorough knowledge of MFS Mutual Funds; strong knowledge of Insurance Products preferred. * Prior sales experience preferred. * Strong understanding of MFS distribution channels and their distinct selling styles. * Position requires FINRA Series 6 and 63 registrations in accordance with MFS' licensing policy.
