Line of Business: HUMAN SYSTEMS Job Category: Pending Categorization PrimaryPurpose: Coordinate the Human Systems (HS) integration of all new mergers andacquisitions into BB&T. Additionally, administer the severance process andreporting for all merger and non-merger related reductions-in-force. EssentialDuties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functionsfor this job. Other Duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are notmentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Manage theHS conversion for all non-bank acquisitions. Specifically: a. Coordinate HSspecific conversions such as payroll, benefits, Personal Development Plans,short-term absence, and vacation. b. Gather, analyze, and distribute appropriateHS merger-related information to the respective HS managers. c. Coordinate andconduct policy and procedure training for the merging partners. d. Providemerger-related reporting for LoB managers, HS managers, Accounting &Financial Reporting, and other departments as requested. e. Provide day-to-daysupport on all merger-related issues. f. Serve as a liaison with all areas of HSand other departments as it relates to employee merger issues. 2. Coordinate theHS conversion for all bank acquisitions. Specifically: a. Gather, review, andanalyze pertinent human resources documents of the target during the duediligence process. Report findings to HS Merger Integration Manager. rdinate HS specific conversions such as payroll, benefits, PersonalDevelopment Plans, short-term absence and vacation. c. Oversee HS mergercommunications to include newsletters, intranet pages, e-mail notifications,mailings and memos. d. Lead conference calls with HS division representatives toensure necessary progress is made toward conversion and integration of acquiredemployees. e. Administer the transition of corporate titles; ensure compliancewith corporate policy. f. Provide ongoing HS merger reporting to ExecutiveManagement, Senior Leadership Team members, HS Division Manager, Accounting& Financial Reporting, Conversion Team Project Office and additionalreporting for other departments as requested. g. Administer the Pay-to-Stayprocess; ensure that pay-to-stay requests and agreements follow the programguidelines. h. Coordinate policy and procedure, benefits, and ATA training forthe merging partners. i. Coordinate the mapping of merger employees to theappropriate BB&T lines of business. j. Provide day-to-day support on allmerger-related issues. k. Serve as a liaison with all areas of HS and otherdepartments as it relates to employee merger issues. 3. Manage theadministration of all severance packages for merger and non-merger situations;ensure that severance documents and implementation follow the General SeverancePlan and HS policy guidelines. Specifically: a. Prepare and distribute severancepackages. b. Ensure legal compliance of ADEA, OWBPA and WARN; ensure properdocuments are provided timely to employees and government officials. inister severance reporting to all areas of the bank including requiredfinancial reporting (i.e., 10-Q and 10-K), monthly reporting to Accounting,quarterly reporting to HS Division Manager, and weekly reporting to HS managers.d. Process terminations for merger RIF employees with Payroll department,coordinating and verifying information with Employee Relations to ensure payoutof unused vacation time in compliance with HS policy. e. Provide severanceguidance to BB&T managers and employees. 4. Manage the Merger-RIF cifically: a. Facilitate database enhancements and modifications. b. Maintainemployee data and update database as appropriate to ensure accurate andefficient administration of the merger and RIF processes. c. Assess andfacilitate database needs for each merger/conversion. 5. Reconcile monthlyseverance and pay-to-stay payments to prepare general ledger accruals; work withpayroll to correct any over/under payments. 6. Provide guidance, training andcontinued support to other Merger Integration team members.
