Description
Alternative Products, Hedge Funds Associate We are looking to fill a position in BlackRock’s Business Operations – O&A Alternative Products, Fund Admin Team in our Wilmington office. The person will be providing support for, oversight and servicing of our hedge products. Responsibilities include: - Working with the administrators to reconcile and sign off NAV and insure the integrity of investor reports - Reviewing monthly and quarterly analyses about the products as necessary for use in management reporting - Working with accounting agents in preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial reporting - Working closely with our client management and marketing teams (including waterfall payment structures etc) - Working closely with other departments within the organization to ensure the above tasks are performed - Working with the auditors of the products in assisting and coordinating the audits and annual financial reporting
In addition, we are looking for the following qualifications: - Good background in Net Asset Value preparation - Good background in the preparation and review of financial statement prepared under US GAAP would be a plus - Understanding of the investments that can be held in the various hedge products (but not limited to Mortgage Related Securities, Bank Loans, Structured Finance (ABS) securities, credit default swaps, total return swaps, interest rate swaps) - Understanding of various derivative products and documentation (interest rate swaps, total return swap, cash flow swaps, credit default swaps, foreign currency hedges) - Understanding of the various fund structures (master/feeders, offshore funds, Delaware LLCs etc) - Strong Excel skills - Strong ability to read, interpret, discuss and language in the underlying documents of the products (including, but not limited to, Offering Documents, Investment Management Agreements) - Collaborate with other groups within BlackRock on various projects related to the development and enhancement of the process - Work with management to train and develop staff as necessary
The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years experience working with Alternative Investment Products (hedge fund and / or private equity fund accounting) in an Operations or Financial Reporting capacity. Previous experience at third part fund accounting provider or other accounting oversight role is preferred. Experience with any of the big 4 audit firm in auditing investment companies is a plus.
