This role is responsible for driving sales revenues associated with Russell Index data and fund licensing through sales associates in the EMEA region including UK, Euro-zone, Middle East and India. Clients will include investment management firms, banks, plan sponsors, consultants and other financial intermediaries. This person is a key part of the Russell index management team and contributes significantly to the revenues and reputation of Russell.
This position is an office based role with regular UK and Europe travel.
The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:
* Manage sales team and their individual activities through SLX. Drive a substantial increase in revenue from new Russell Index clients and additional users within existing clients.
* Monitor and manage quantity and quality of sales activities, traditional pipeline of prospective clients, close ratios, shortfalls of required level for success, continuous feedback for over/under achievement of both prospecting and closed sales. Full documentation of activities in Sales Logix or equivalent.
* Frequent field participation in sales calls and presentations.
* Manage sales success across all product lines, including partnership products, Universes, Global, RGS, Structured Products, Custom Indexes along with our traditional US Equity Index products.
* Focus on new fund and ETF partnerships.
* Implementation of a sales management process to include but not be limited to: annual comprehensive territory account reviews, quarterly territory review, monthly forecasts, mid-month updates. Full integration with Sales Logix or equivalent.
* Establish effective sales territories, quotas and goals.
* Implement an employee satisfaction and motivation plan to include retention initiatives of high performing sales associates, on-going training and development plans, recognition, manage a performance improvement process when needed by exception for sales associates not performing at plan levels.
* Cross functional activities: participate proactively with the Index Management Team, Product Development staff, Client Service team, Marketing, Operations staff and other Russell departments.
* Manage expenses to plan levels for sales department associates, travel, entertainment, client engagements.
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
* University degree in finance or related field required; Masters prefered.
* Knowledge of capital markets and investment industry.
* Knowledge of Russell Index methodology, history, competitive advantages.
* Highly proficient oral and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining client relationships.
* Demonstrated professionalism and a client service focus in all oral and written communication with internal/external clients and prospects.
* Demonstrated ability to work in teams and independently, prioritize work-load, and manage time effectively.
* Demonstrated success in sales, with history of exceeding sales targets.
