Key Role: Develop and manage financial data to control budget funds allocation between programs, track all changes and adjustments, and prepare, review, and report final controls. Assist with drafting budget requirement justification and defense. Develop briefings, impact statements, and other documentation. Coordinate the development, review, and final execution of all spend plans to ensure that all tasks are accomplished within controls and that appropriations are properly aligned with work efforts and work breakdown structures (WBS). Facilitate relationships between program managers and financial managers in all matters relating to budget development and funds execution. Identify when funds near expiration and initiate action to pull back funding that has not been obligated or expended. This position is located in Troy, Michigan. Basic Qualifications: -3 years of experience with providing support in the financial management and oversight of program budgets -Experience with advanced Microsoft Excel spreadsheet techniques, including pivot tables, macros, and validation lookups in order to support budget development, execution tracking, and spend plan development -Knowledge of the DoD budget process and cycle -Ability to obtain a security clearance -BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications: -Experience with Army ERP, Army SAP, or Legacy Army financial systems -Experience with government programming and budgeting -Ability to analyze and synthesize data into usable forms -Ability to interface with senior government and industry officials -Possession of excellent consulting and client relationship skills -Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills -Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
