Our division in Woodland Hills, CA is seeking an entry-level Financial Analyst. Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience coupled with a degree in Finance, MBA preferred.
Job Summary
The Financial Analyst will participate in the control of costs and schedules on contracts using a validated cost schedule control system. Performs analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government costs control guidelines. Participates in the preparation of budgets and schedules for all contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis. Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government. Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines. Analyzes actual cost details to ensure proper charging to contract. Develops forecasts of future costs based on historical actuals, program status and management plans. Applies independent judgment and critical thinking to evaluate historical cost and future estimates. Uses various systems (Cost Point for accounting, Cobra for earned value, MS Project for scheduling, Cognos for reporting, MS Office [particularly Excel] for analysis, Internet Explorer for collaboration) to analyze costs and correct as necessary. Will need to be able to work with a variety of professional functions: Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, Quality, Operations, etc., and with various levels within the organization: entry level to senior management.
