Description
The Intermediate Financial Analyst will provide financial support to the line of business leadership by creating monthly reports, and analyzing monthly data. This position will be responsible for forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis as requested. To fulfill this role, the analyst will:
Report Analysis and generation. Prepare monthly financial reports for the Human Capital and IPS lines of businesses. Analyze the monthly financial reports and explain variances against the budget. Investigate unusual transactions affecting the financial results and prepare adjustments as needed. Prepare monthly financial summaries for each of the departments highlighting the performance drivers and risks to the business leaders.
Process improvement. Run existing queries in the financial systems to pull monthly data for analysis. Understand the methodology of the reports prior to analyzing. Validate data against the general ledger or WebCas feed. Coordinate adhoc requests received from the global finance managers and regional finance teams with the financial systems team. Monitor frequency of the requests, determine ways to simplify the process, and train the regional finance team in processing the reports.
Budget Preparation. Prepare budgets for the corporate departments of Human Capital. Understand the mechanics of the budget system. Assist the global finance managers in loading the data into the budget system. Train the regional finance team on how to utilize the budget system and coordinate any issues with the Corporate FP&A and financial systems team.
Special Projects. Support the Global Finance Manager in developing financial models for strategic investments.
Respond to client questions. Assist the business operations team by providing various financial information that are consistent with the published results. Develop reports and presentation materials that effectively communicate financial performance and risks to the business leaders
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting * 5 - 7 years in an accounting or financial analysis role * Analytical and problem solving skills * Advanced excel skills * Understanding of database systems * Knowledge with financial systems (Oracle, Brio, Hyperion) a plus
