Financial Analyst - Insurance Accounting Job
Description
- Responsible for managing all aspects of accounting for captive insurance companies. - Prepare journal entries, account analyses, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, cash flow analysis and preparation of related financial statements. - Preparation of financial data for quarterly captive board of directors meetings. - Evaluate accounting treatment of new insurance programs and other insurance activity. - Assist in preparation of the annual statutory financial statements and coordinate with external auditors, actuaries and captive managers. - Work closely with Risk Management team to understand possible risk and opportunities and provide them with timely and accurate information as requested. - Work with external actuary to prepare and record annual true-up in respect to insurance programs. - Work on special projects as required.
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience - Bachelor's degree in Accounting - Successful completion of CPA certification - Strong analytical skills - Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel a must, SAP and Hyperion a plus) - Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy - Highly motivated and able to work with a team - Good verbal and written communication skills - Ability to team and partner with personnel from all levels of staff and management
