Description
The purpose of this Financial Analyst is to provide financial support to the to the Health & Benefits (H&B) line of business leadership by creating monthly reports, and analyzing monthly data. This position will be responsible for forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis as requested.
Responsibilities will include:
Report Analysis and generation. Run existing or custom queries in financial systems to pull monthly financial data for analysis based on reports requested from finance manager. Understand the methodology of the reports and the process prior to analyzing. Validate LOB revenue data on general ledger from WebCAS data feed. Analyze month end data for variances.
Process improvement. Track reoccurring report requests and run times and suggest more efficient ways to report to management.
Budget Preparation. Load revenue and expense data into budget system. Develop reports for sub-business budgets by loading data into formed reports. Assist management in the creation of budget for requested accounts (ex; expense budget). Assist finance manager in creation of budget models for use in projecting budgets.
Special projects. Work with other LOB and global financial analysts to create lists of common report queries to be developed by financial systems teams. Participate in other project or process improvement teams assigned by finance manager as necessary.
Work with the Americas Finance Team, producing monthly deliverables for Flash and work on ad hoc projects for the Americas Finance Manager. Will be expected to take responsibility for these deliverables and analysis. Time management/prioritization will be a critical success factor for this candidate.
Respond to client questions. Coordinate unapplied commissions between business and accounting center. Generate reports tracking commissions and direct questions regarding unapplied commissions to client managers.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance * 2-4 years of experience in an accounting or financial analysis role * Analytical and problem solving skills * Advanced excel skills * Understanding of database systems * Knowledge with financial systems (Oracle, Brio, Hyperion) a plus
