Description The primary role of the Financial Analyst, Finance Operations is to coordinate the overall duties and responsibilities of all cost report preparation, cost report audits and associated analysis. The Financial Analyst, Finance Operations completes the initial review of all transactions that impact the cost reports by providing on-going monitoring and reviews of information, completing analytical reviews, and providing commentary to management.

- Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries and leads schedules as assigned.
- Reviews income statements throughout the month to ensure accuracy and completeness at month end. Assists with the preparation of the internal budget/financial target measure summary.
- Analyzes and reviews the monthly financial results versus the actual budget and provides a commentary to management.
- Prepares and distributes the complete set of financial statements, trended and actual versus budget to the State Director and operation managers. Analyzes and reviews trended financial results.
- Coordinates and completes all cost reports, cost report audits and cost report analysis timely and accurately. Reviews expense coding and ensure compliance with ACHA (Medicaid) guidelines, as appropriate.
- Competes and coordinates various audits as assigned.
- Assists State Accounting Manager with the annual company budgets, financial targets and monthly reforecast. Reviews all budgets/reforecast completed to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Analyzes financial information, trends, data, and graphs making appropriate recommendations and generating ideas for potential cost savings and/or financial opportunities.
- Assists with the development of internal control policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Ensures Sarbanes Oxley compliance with all assigned areas and other audit requirements.
- Performs other duties as required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or commensurate experience.
Experience: Three to five years of experience in an Accounting related position
Other Skills and Abilities: Experience with Hyperion and Oracle preferred
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field
Excellent computer skills, data entry speed and accuracy, and related office equipment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Valid driver's license and driving record that meets insurability requirements as defined by the company, if applicable.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
