Title: Financial Accounting and Technical Accounting - Join Our Network- Northern California Location: California-San Francisco The Northern California office of Jefferson Wells is seeking high caliber Technical Accounting/Financial Reporting Professionals willing to step into a key role of providing these technical services to our clients. This position will give the professional the ability to strengthen their technical skills while being exposed to recent pronouncements and also provides the opportunity to assist clients with process improvement and implementation of the most current software in today's fast changing environment.
Duties: * Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related management reporting * Responsible for the quarterly press release process by preparing financial statements, analyzing results, reviewing press release text and preparing schedules to be used by senior management in the quarterly earnings release conference calls * Responsible for all aspects of preparing SEC filings (10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, proxy statements, etc) * Work with external and internal auditors regarding controls compliance and audit issues as they arise during reviews *Develop and implement process improvements in relationship to financial close and reporting * Perform technical accounting research, assessing the impact of new accounting pronouncements on financial statements and providing technical updates to senior management and assistance to division, business unit and local controllers * Preparation, communication and administration of Financial Policies * Analyze corporate restructuring initiatives and work with subsidiaries to ensure accuracy of charges * Provide guidance and be the technical lead on business acquisitions and dispositions At Jefferson Wells, the challenges of work meet the challenges of life. Your profile will remain active for one uirements: * Bachelors degree in Accounting; MBA a plus * CPA designation required * 6 to 9 years of public accounting experience * Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP * Strong knowledge of SEC reporting requirements * Strong knowledge of and/or experience with general ledger systems, consolidation systems, management reporting, financial statement preparation and financial analysis * Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, problem resolution skills and the ability to effectively work with cross functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization * Must be a self-starter and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision * Ability to drive projects to completion * Confidence to make decisions * Strong personal computer skills in a Windows environment * Experience with Hyperion or other consolidation systems a plus * Demonstrated record of client service with strong verbal and written communication skills.
