Position Description As a key member of the Expedia Worldwide (EWW) Finance team, you will play a critical role in managing all Financial Reporting, with assessments of historical and forward-looking financial performance, including analysis of variances and trends, risks and opportunities, and communication of business insights. You will coordinate and communicate the planning and forecasting process, ensuring alignment and supporting enhanced information sharing. This role will partner closely with the Expedia Brand Finance teams (Regional and Marketing), key Expedia Business owners, as well as internal partners such as Accounting & Financial Reporting, Human Resources and other Finance teams. Ad-hoc financial analysis will support senior management in monitoring business performance and in decision-making. You will be responsible for all non-Marketing Operating Expense forecasting and reporting, including all Headcount related costs. Mentoring, developing staff (1 Direct Report) and leading by example are a key part of this role.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and communicate planning and forecast process throughout EWW Brand Finance and Business community To manage EWW Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly reporting processes, readily providing insight of key drivers behind Financial trends and outlook Produce informative and actionable management reporting, both historical and forward-looking, for an executive level audience To drive improved transparency and insight of Allocated Technology and Cost of Sales spend, partnering with respective FP&A teams Monitor and evaluate forecast quality with objective of influencing continuous process improvement To work with key data owners to drive consistent metric definition for reporting and forecasting needs - Hyperion, Global Analytics, Marketing, HR, Corporate Finance To manage and develop a direct report (Financial Analyst) Manage all Headcount related processes, including Approval Process, and Headcount Reporting and Forecasting Manage EWW Global People Cost, Discretionary Expense and OPEX for accrual, forecast and monthly reporting cycles Maintain the EWW Workflow system (payment authorization structure) Leverage Business Intelligence experts within EWW Business Intelligence and EDW teams, to help design and implement procedures for more insightful and efficient reporting incl automation, report sharing and distribution Coordinate with counterparts across other EI Finance teams, adopting and sharing best practices
Qualifications
7+ years experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis role, or related finance / accounting roles. Lead/managerial experience desired Bachelors degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics required MBA or CPA highly recommended Proven leader with track record of recommending and driving changes that meaningfully impact the finance organization. Demonstrated understanding of forecasting / planning processes and preparation of executive-level management reporting Ability to effectively work with the highest levels of the company's leadership Extreme customer service orientation with ability to adapt to different work styles and personalities Strong qualitative and quantitative financial analytical skills, with a passion for using data to drive decision making Exceptional spreadsheet modeling capabilities with strong attention to detail Experience mentoring or managing staff Extremely organized with the ability to work on and manage multiple tasks concurrently within demanding deadlines Results oriented individual with a high level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information Excellent verbal and written communications skills Required : strong Excel skills, plus experience with Financial System(s) Preferred : Hyperion, Essbase, Business Objects, PSFT
