Some of the responsibilities of a Finance/Accounting intern are as follows: • Maintains the company's cost accounting system; makes recommendations for improvement as needed • Provides cost estimation for new and existing products and participates in cost reduction initiatives • Prepares and analyzes specific accounting statements and reports to assist in the preparation of financial statements, and other internal and external reports as required • Coordinates with other departments to achieve cost planning targets • Assists in development and transmissions of operating plan and strategic plan • Analyzes monthly operating performance and profit projections for reporting and developing action items • Develops overhead and labor standards • Participates in monthly and yearly closing processes including journal entry preparation • Assists with the development and maintenance of annual budgets
Qualifications: • Currently working on completion of Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent • 3.0 GPA or above • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm • Ability to exercise independent judgment • Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint • Proven leadership and business acumen skills • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines • Strong interpersonal skills.
