Finance Director - Wilmington (Sports Management/Finance/Admin)

Join us in beautiful coastal North Carolina. The Association is seeking an experienced, success oriented individual to lead and manage its fiscal operations.


JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Director provides direction and leadership for Association finance and business operations and strategic initiatives.

Under the direction of the CEO, the Finance Director oversees the Association's accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of its financial reports. Ensures a system of strong internal controls and maintains fiscal soundness. Manages the annual external audit, the 990 tax return and the preparation of information for outside funders. May provide leadership for other functions, such as human resources, risk management and information technology services.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution in business, finance or equivalent; MBA, CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of five or more years of experience in accounting and financial management.
  • Accounting experience in a not for profit agency or governmental entity preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general business matters required including budget development, financial reporting, cash management, risk management, payroll, business taxes, banking and debt financing instruments.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, including experience with system selection, new system implementation and project management. Personal computer skills required.
  • Experience in effectively managing a staff team.
  • Previous experience with voluntary/non-profit organizations preferred.
  • Association Organizational Leader Certification preferred.


    Salary:

    $44,000 - $60,000


    Additional Compensation Details:

    Medical/Dental/Vision, 12% Retirement
